The Black Moods

Nothing makes a statement like the roar of a guitar. The Black Moods are a powerhouse trio of natural-born rockers out of the sweltering desert of Arizona. But don’t get them confused with a small local band, they’ve toured with veteran acts such as Whitesnake, and have a raw ability to grab their audience's attention and keep them locked in with their unique sound. Ambient and TBM teamed up to capture an intimate session at the legendary Salt Mine Studios in Mesa, Arizona. They grabbed the vintage gear and created an acoustic version of their single “Bad News.” Moody and full of vibes, we were able to play off of the studio’s signature look and create an atmosphere that worked in perfect harmony with the music.

BEHIND THE SCENES

How can you match audio and visuals with retro tones and videos? We dug deep into our roots to create a 70’s color scape and hard rock attitude with equipment only available today. Using LED technology, digital camera work, and state of the art color correction, we worked in tandem with The Black Moods to secure the right look. To get crispy clear imagery in the video, we shot in 6K on 2x RED Weapons equipped with Xeen cinema glass topped off with some Black Frost filters. Every frame was planned shot by shot with TBM. We heard what they wanted out of the video and then delivered a detailed plan and budget. We even had a photographer on set to isolate stills they can use in their promotional material.
